Emili Balaguer-Ballester

I have been on the academic staff at Bournemouth University since 2012; where I established a computational neuroscience lab. After my PhD in time series analyses (2001) and a 4 years postdoc in this topic at the University of Valencia-Tissat inc., I worked with Sue Denham at the Centre for Neural Systems (University of Plymouth, 2005-2008); developing models of auditory processing. From 2009-2012 I was first postdoc and then project leader at the Bernstein Centre for Computational Neuroscience (University of Heidelberg) with Daniel Durstewitz, my research focused on the reconstruction of neural dynamics in ensemble recordings.

Current projects in the computational neuroscience lab include models of top-down auditory processing, analyses of trial-to-trial variability and identification of ensemble activity dynamics and its modulation by cathecolamines.
